Timothy L. Cole, P.E. to Retire

Newark, DE – Timothy L. Cole, P.E., founder and President of Applied Control Engineering, Inc. (ACE) will retire from the company at the end of December. Ian P. Burns, P.E., CFSP is named President, effective today.
This move has been planned for months and is the next step in the leadership transition process Tim and ACE started more than six years ago. Between now and the end of the year, Tim, Ian, and the rest of the ACE management team will continue working on a smooth changeover.
Tim has been President at ACE since founding the company in 1991. Since then, the company has grown to 130 employees across seven locations and with almost $23M in revenue. Tim started his career with DuPont in 1980 after obtaining his chemical engineering degree from Auburn University.
Ian joined ACE after earning his chemical engineering degree at Villanova in 1995. He was Operations Manager of ACE’s Gulf Coast office in Houston, TX from 2007 to 2015.
Tim will be missed – for his leadership, business skills, and camaraderie; we plan to retain his friendship and see him often. Please join all of us at ACE in wishing Tim a long enjoyable retirement.
