Rockwell Automation TechED 2016
On June 12 – 17, 2016 ACE’s Dave Erby and Gary Hida attended Rockwell Automation TechED in Orlando, FL. With its mix of comprehensive training and networking, the week was all about sharing ideas, proving concepts, and learning new strategies. This year’s event included more than 170 sessions and hands-on labs that covered topics from manufacturing best practices to process automation, manufacturing intelligence, visualization, high performance architecture, industrial networking and security, and more. Wednesday’s night EDFest was fun as always; 8 fantastic food trucks were brought into the hotel ballroom offering a wide variety of choices. We look forward to next year!
Ohio Valley BBQ
On June 9, 2016, ACE’s Ohio Valley office celebrated Game 5 of the 2016 Stanley Cup Finals with a lunch time BBQ. Though the Pittsburgh Penguins weren’t able to clinch the title that night, they did go on to win it in true Penguin fashion – on the road in Game 6. Our congrats go out to the Penguins and their fans on their fourth Stanley Cup title!
Rockwell Automation on the Move in Wilmington
On May 11 – 12, 2016, members of ACE’s Delaware Valley office attended the Rockwell Automation on the Move (RAOTM) event in Wilmington, DE. Designed to give attendees the opportunity to discover new manufacturing solutions, the event offered technical sessions, hands-on labs, and product and technology exhibits.
As a Rockwell Automation Solution Partner, ACE was invited to both attend and present. Mike Lennon delivered a talk entitled “Applying ISA101 HMI Concepts to Existing HMI Applications”. The presentation focused on upgrading existing HMI applications to utilize the concepts discussed in ISA101 and offered an implementation strategy for controls engineers with existing systems.
After RAOTM, attendees headed over to Frawley Stadium, home of the Wilmington Blue Rocks, where Rumsey Electric hosted a Night at the Ballpark. Featuring stadium tours, games, and door prizes the event was a great way to unwind after RAOTM.
